Dan Proctor conceptualized Passport Health Communications, Inc. in 1995, created a business plan, recruited a senior management team and secured the initial funding in 1996. He served as president briefly until moving into his current position as chief technology officer.

Proctor’s proven fundraising ability and extremely successful entrepreneurial track record laid the foundation for Passport’s growth through internal idea generation and acquisition activity. His vast industry knowledge and inventive vision continues to guide Passport’s strategic direction from a product standpoint.

A lifelong student of health care, Proctor’s experience began in 1980 when he built an electronic claims submission product for his father, who was at the time a practicing physician. The software he wrote evolved into a company called Specialized Computer Systems, one of the first claims clearinghouses in the U.S. The company was later acquired and became Practice Resource Network, where Proctor was part owner and vice president of operations.
