Passport self-pay review (SPR) is an automated batch processing
solution designed to electronically identify date-specific
Medicaid coverage on accounts within the active self-pay
financial classification. The service also
identifies Medicare and third-party insurance, as well as
coverage in other targeted financial classifications, such as
Medicaid pending and Medicare.
Numerous studies by existing Passport customers demonstrate
that, on the average, between 5% and 15% of all active self-pay
accounts are covered by Medicaid for specified dates-of-service.
Once identified, these accounts can be immediately
re-classified, billed and collected. With Passport SPR, a brief
update may be all that is required to facilitate payment on
accounts that are unnecessarily destined for write-off!
