Passport Earns Recognition for Maximizing Productivity and Efficiency at Cooper Health System

FRANKLIN, Tennessee  - Passport Health Communications, Inc (Passport) of Franklin, TN was recognized at this years annual Healthcare Delivery Solutions Congress by receiving the First Place Award for its work with Cooper Health System (Cooper) to maximize productivity within the facility.

“Fifty-eight of the top healthcare providers and technology innovators entered this competition in twelve different categories,” stated Skip Brickley, President and CEO of The Emergent Group, who put on the Healthcare Delivery Solutions Congress.  “This is a significant achievement for Passport to be recognized by a panel of eighteen industry leading judges as the most significant contributor to enhanced productivity and efficiency with a hospital system.”

Cooper put in place the Passport OneSource® product and that combined with training and development of key personnel produced a 29% increase in accurate patient registrations.  “Through an extensive analysis, Cooper realized that only three out of every four patient registrations were accurate.  This lead to a first pass claims rejection rate by the payers of 24%,” stated Jim Lackey, president and CEO of Passport.  “Cooper was looking for a product that could be implemented quickly, easily trained and understood by the end users and one in which would create immediate impact.  They found that with Passport OneSource®.”

Cooper found that 81% of their problems with rejected claims occurred during the registration process.  Lackey went on to state; “After three months of utilizing Passport OneSource®, the impact was both noticeable and went beyond the goals that Cooper had established for its organization.  Registration accuracy increased from 75% to 97% and rejected claims fell from 24% to 3%.”
