FRANKLIN, Tennessee - Passport Health
Communications, Inc (Passport) of Franklin, TN was recognized at this years
annual Healthcare Delivery Solutions Congress by receiving the First Place Award
for its work with Cooper Health System (Cooper) to maximize productivity within
the facility.
“Fifty-eight of the top healthcare providers and technology
innovators entered this competition in twelve different categories,” stated Skip
Brickley, President and CEO of The Emergent Group, who put on the Healthcare
Delivery Solutions Congress. “This is a significant achievement for Passport to
be recognized by a panel of eighteen industry leading judges as the most
significant contributor to enhanced productivity and efficiency with a hospital
system.”
Cooper put in place the Passport
OneSource® product and that
combined with training and development of key personnel produced a 29% increase
in accurate patient registrations. “Through an extensive analysis, Cooper realized that only
three out of every four patient registrations were accurate. This lead to a
first pass claims rejection rate by the payers of 24%,” stated Jim Lackey,
president and CEO of Passport. “Cooper was looking for a product that could be
implemented quickly, easily trained and understood by the end users and one in
which would create immediate impact. They found that with Passport
OneSource®.”
Cooper found that 81% of their problems with rejected
claims occurred during the registration process. Lackey went on to state;
“After three months of utilizing Passport
OneSource®, the impact was both
noticeable and went beyond the goals that Cooper had established for its
organization. Registration accuracy increased from 75% to 97% and rejected
claims fell from 24% to 3%.”
