FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Health care IT provider Passport Health Communications, Inc.
has again received full accreditation by The Electronic Healthcare Network
Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). Passport was among the first health care IT
organizations to participate in the EHNAC process and has maintained its
accreditation since 2004.
“Passport with its full EHNAC accreditation is among a select group of
organizations,” said Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. “It has
consistently demonstrated to independent third party evaluators the ability to
deliver services that meet the only overall business practice standards in the
industry.”
EHNAC, an independent, not-for-profit accrediting agency, recognizes
organizations that send or receive HIPAA-regulated transactions or that
transport or process Electronic Data Interchange transactions between two or
more trading partners in the health care industry. These entities include
clearinghouses, transaction processors, value-added networks, payers, providers,
provider management organizations and others. The Commission approved Passport
following a comprehensive site visit evaluation and documented review of the
company’s business practices.
“Our latest EHNAC accreditation means we adhere to rigorous industry standards
to provide the highest level of service to our clients,” said Passport President
Keith Ely. “It also allows Passport to continue to lead the industry with
products and services that promote the use of secure electronic transactions for
health care data.”
Passport’s current EHNAC accreditation is valid through February 2010.
