Daniel A. Proctor conceptualized Passport Health Communications in 1995 and received initial funding in 1996. He served as President until late 1996 when he moved into his current position as Chief Technology Officer. He brings a vast knowledge of healthcare industry as well as an entrepreneurial spirit to Passport, and his vision continues to guide the organization today.

Prior to founding Passport Health Communications, he founded Specialized Computer Systems, a physician practice management software company. His first experience with healthcare information technology was building an electronic claim submission product for Medicare claims in 1980 for his father, a practicing physician.
